MulchFest 2016 - Recycle Your Holiday Tree!

This weekend is MulchFest 2016. On January 9th & 10th from 10:00am-2:00pm, at locations throughout New York City, you can bring your holiday tree to a designated city park to be recycled into mulch that will nourish plants across the city.

MulchFest is a partnership between NYC Parks, DSNY, and GreeNYC to recycle Christmas trees into wood chips. These wood chips are used to nourish trees and plants on streets and gardens citywide. Those who drop off a tree also have the option to take home their own bag of mulch to use in their backyard or to make a winter bed for a street tree. More than 30,000 trees were recycled last year.
