Senator Skelos' Free Community Prostate Cancer Screening Program

Senator Dean G. Skelos (R-Rockville Centre), in conjunction with South Nassau Communities Hospital, will be sponsoring a free community prostate cancer screening program on Tuesday, April 22 in Hewlett. 

     Screenings will be conducted on April 22nd between 1 and 4 pm at the Hewlett Woodmere Public Library, located at 1125 Broadway in Hewlett.

     All men are welcome to get screened as part of the free program, regardless of whether or not they have insurance. Screenings will include a PSA blood test. Men who will be getting screened must bring with them a photo ID containing an address, such as a driver’s license. Participants will be notified of the exam results. Men who have a primary care physician who they would like to have notified about the exam results should bring that physician’s name and contact information. 

     Appointments are recommended but walk-ins will be accepted. Screening appointments will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Men who would like to schedule an appointment should call Senator Skelos’s office at 516-766-8383.
