Senator Craig M. Johnson, (D-Nassau), will be hosting a free holiday pancake breakfast for veterans Saturday, Dec. 19, at American Legion Post 144, 730 Willis Avenue in Williston Park.
The event, which begins at 9 a.m., will also include a discussion on veterans' benefits and an introductory speech by Pat Moffett, Vietnam Veteran and author of "Fortunate Soldier."
Senator Johnson will be partnering with Empire State College and the Long Island State Veterans Home to discuss veteran's benefits and educational opportunities including: Automobile, Blindness, Burial, Civil Service, Disability Pension Benefits, Education, Employment & Training, Nursing Home Care, Licenses & Permits, Loans (Housing), Property Tax Exemption, Survivors’ Benefits, Vocational Rehabilitation and Wheelchair Homes.
