Senate to Hold Hearing on NYRA's Fiscal Health


 


ELMONT, N.Y. -- Senator Craig M. Johnson, (D-Nassau), Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Investigations and Government Operations and Senator Eric Adams (D-Prospect Heights), Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Racing, Gaming and Wagering, will be holding a joint hearing on the fiscal condition of the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and how thoroughbred racing in New York compares to other states. 


 


Scheduled to present testimony are: NYRA President Charles Haywood, National Thoroughbred Racing Association President Alex Waldrop, New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association President Richard Violette, Jr., Craig Fravel, Executive Vice-President of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in California, as well as racing industry experts, and leaders from NYRA's host communities.
