Purpose

ALBANY (February 26, 2010)—The New York State Senate Agriculture Committee will hold a public hearing Monday, March 1, on proposed legislation known as the Farm Worker Fair Labor Practices Act (S.2247-B). The hearing will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hearing Room A of the Legislative Office Building, Albany, and be Web cast live on the Internet at www.livestream.com/NYSenate_Agriculture.

Testimony will be given in person by farmers, advocates, agribusiness and other interested or affected parties to discuss the legislation, the impact its mandates would have on both farm workers and the agriculture industry as a whole. Written testimony will also be accepted by the committee from parties unable to attend the hearing or unable to testify within the timeframe.
