Purpose

City Parks Foundation welcomes Staten Islanders over 60 to participate in “CityParks Seniors Fitness,” a five-week program of free tennis lessons.

Instruction began Monday, and will be offered through mid-October on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in Greenbelt Park, off Brielle Avenue, between Rockland and Wolcott avenues in Sea View. Equipment is provided.
 
Health experts say that, even in moderate amounts, exercise can help older adults feel better, maintain or lose weight, reduce risk of heart disease and diabetes, and minimize the symptoms of arthritis.
