Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with South Nassau Communities Hospital, will be sponsoring a no out-of-pocket cost prostate cancer screening program on Thursday, September 15th in Freeport.
Screenings will be conducted on September 15th between 4 pm-7 pm at the Freeport Recreation Center, which is located at 130 E. Merrick Road in Freeport.
All men are welcome to get screened as part of the program, regardless of whether or not they have insurance. Screenings will include a PSA blood test. Men who will be getting screened must bring with them a photo ID containing an address, such as a driver’s license. Participants will be notified of the exam results; those who wish to have their primary physician notified as well should bring their doctor’s name and address. There is no out-of-pocket cost to participate in the program.
Appointments are recommended but walk-ins will be accepted. Screening appointments will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Men who would like to schedule an appointment should call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
