Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he will be sponsoring a "Shed the Meds" program on Saturday, July 21st where residents can safely dispose of expired and unwanted medications.
Senator Fuschillo’s “Shed the Meds” program will be held at the Bellmore Train Station’s far west parking lot, located on the northwest corner of Sunrise Highway and Centre Avenue, between 9 am and 12 pm on Saturday, July 21st.
Participating in the program is easy; residents can drive up, drop off their unwanted medications and/or old cell phones, and drive away.
Senator Fuschillo’s “Shed the Meds” program enables residents to safely dispose of expired or unwanted medications. The program will be conducted under the supervision of the Nassau County Police Department, who will safely dispose of all medications collected through the program. Safe disposal helps protect the environment and keeps medications out of the hands of young children or others who would use them improperly.
Residents who have any questions about Senator Fuschillo's "Shed the Meds" program on July 21st can call Senator Fuschillo's office at 516-882-0630.
