Purpose
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with the Integrated Medical Foundation, will be sponsoring a free prostate cancer screening program in Wantagh.
The free screening program will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 between 4 pm and 6 pm at the Wantagh American Legion, which is located at 3484 Park Avenue, Wantagh.
The Integrated Medical Foundation’s guidelines for the program are as follows:
• Open to all men over the age of 40 who have not previously been diagnosed with prostate cancer, regardless of whether or not they have insurance;
• Screenings will include a PSA blood test and a digital rectal exam;
• Men who will be getting screened must bring a photo ID containing an address, such as a driver’s license;
• Patients wishing to be notified of the exam results should bring 2 stamped envelopes: one addressed to themselves and the other to their doctor.
Appointments are recommended but walk-ins will be accepted. Screening appointments will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Men who would like to schedule an appointment for a free prostate cancer screening should call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
