Hilton Lady Cadets Go Pink

The Hilton Lady Cadets lacrosse team is going pink for breast cancer awareness. The girls wore special pink jersey prior to Mother's Day for Breast Cancer Awareness. On Monday, May 16th, they will hold a special breast cancer awareness night when they take on Greece Arcadia/Olympia at 7:30. The team members are: Alex Bennett, Katrina Campbell, Shannen Drennon, Sam Ekiert, Danielle Endres, Anai Flanagan, Serena Gates, Bridget Hamlin, Leia Hayward, Sarah Johnson, Briana Kimble, Monica Messina, Jessica Noto, Stephani Pakusch, Alex Phillips, Biz Reinhardt, Nadia Wallace, Danielle Wilkin, and Jessica Zagari. Brighton Little Leaguers Ready to PLAY BALL!

On Saturday, April 30th, Senator Robach had the honor to take part in Opening Day festivities for Brighton Little League. This included a parade and post parade ceremony, where he spoke to all of the participants in this great program. Senator Robach Visits School 34

On Friday, April 15th, Senator Robach visited with students at School No. 34 in Rochester. The Dr. Louis A. Cerulli School hosted its annual "Snuggle Up with a Good Book/Poem in Your Pocket Day". After talking with students and teachers, Senator Robach also visited with a fifth grade class.

Senator Klein holds his 17th Annual Easter Bunny Breakfast and Magic Show

BRONX, NY- On Saturday, April 16th, Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) joined by more than 300 children from the Bronx and Westchester, held his 17th annual Easter Bunny Breakfast and Magic Show at Villa Barone Catering Hall in the Bronx. Families enjoyed a free breakfast, magic show and a build-a-bunny workshop. The Easter Bunny also made a special appearance.

Lauren Shields' Birthday a True Celebration

On Thursday, April 13th, in honor of National Donate Life Month, the New York State Senate was joined by 11-year-old heart transplant survivor Lauren Shields. Senator Robach was proud to support life saving legislation passed by the Senate today. Bill S.3885 would increase the number of eligible and willing organ donors by requiring driver's license applicants to specifically indicate their donation decision. Also, Senator Robach took part in a special birthday celebration for Lauren along with his Senate colleagues.

One Step Closer Bowl-A-Thon

On Sunday, April 3rd, I had the opportunity to attend One Step Closer's Bowl-a-thon at Clover Lanes. Families took part in the event which raised money for the organization, which is dedicated for providing needy youth in the Rochester City Schools with a new pair of shoes for the new school year so they may start the year with pride. Boy Scout Troop and Pack 169 Helps Japan

On Saturday, April 2nd, Senator Robach had the opportunity to attend a 'Help Us Help Japan' fundraising event at the Danforth Community Center in Rochester. The event was organized by Boy Scout Troop and Pack 169 and all donations and proceeds went to the Japan relief efforts. Scouts collected bottles and cans and also visited with the Jr. ROTC Drill Team.

Section Five Football Hall of Fame Dedication

On Saturday, March 26th, I had the opportunity to speak at, and help cut the ribbon at, a ceremony to dedicate the new Section Five Football Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is now located permanently at Sahlen's Stadium (formerly PAETEC Park) in downtown Rochester. Past student-athletes, contributors, administrators, and officials are honored in the hall. Section Five will induct the 2011 Hall of Fame Class at a ceremony next Thursday night, April 7th. Sen. Farley Discusses Youth Build Program With Participants

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting participants of Northeast Parent & Child Society’s Youth Build program on March 16th in Albany. According to Northeast Parent & Child Society’s website, Youth Build is a "12-month program that helps young adults ages 18 to 24 from Schenectady County earn a GED while getting paid to build affordable housing. Participants receive six months of classroom instruction and onsite construction training and six months of job placement and support services." Senator Farley discussed the importance of the Youth Build program with Tabatha Cole, Carlton Thompson, Kevin Phipps, Elise Martin and Rebecca Ilowiecki.
