The Republican-controlled Senate and the Assembly have each submitted their budget bills, which accept and reject portions of the Governor’s recommended State spending plan for FY 2011-12.
While I was pleased by many of the funding restorations contained in the Senate’s budget resolution, I voted against the proposal because it hurts our children -- our young people who are on the road to ruin because we, as a State, are not acting responsibly to reform New York’s juvenile justice system.

Senator Robach was in attendance at the 79th Annual Mission Bouts in the Wegman-Napier Gymnasium at the Aquinas Institute.
Congratulations to the boxers who trained rigorously for months with Coach Dominic Arioli and his long-time assistants Chris Schwab, Lou Buscemi & Bernie Barco.
This year, the Bouts were dedicated to Dominic Arioli, in honor of his 30th anniversary as a coach. As a 1973 alumnus of Aquinas, Dom has dedicated much of his life to fostering the program that he grew to love as a student. Dominic's devotion, understanding, commitment and ability not only to teach, but to relate to our young people have endeared him in the hearts of all the young men and women who have climbed through the ropes of the Aquinas boxing ring.
