Aunque logramos restituir el dinero para mantener abierto los centros de ancianos y la amenaza de cerrar 105 centros de personas mayores de edad ya no es real, por otro lado en el presupuesto el Gobernador Cuomo pide un corte de 2.8 billones de dolares en los beneficios de medicaid.

On Friday, March 4th, Senator Robach spoke at 'South Avenue Goes Blue for Colorectal Cancer Awareness'. During the event, free health screenings were given to the uninsured, ages 40 and older. Oak Orchard Health expands

(New York, NY) With mounting evidence that Congress is embarking on a crusade against women’s reproductive rights, including efforts to shut down Planned Parenthood, Senator Liz Krueger (D-Manhattan) is working with Senate leadership and advocates to build a coalition in support of Planned Parenthood and against anti-choice legislation.

As a sign of unity, Senator Krueger gathered 22 of her colleagues to sign a letter to Speaker Boehner calling for him to drop his war against Planned Parenthood and women’s reproductive health.

Senator Martins Discusses Healthcare With Student Health Center Advocates

State Senator Jack M. Martins met with students from throughout the 7th Senate District, including Elmont, Hempstead, Bellerose Terrace, Westbury, South Floral Park and New Cassell, to discuss school-based health centers. The group of high school seniors met with Senator Martins to advocate for preventative and basic health care coverage for young people who do not have health care coverage. Winthrop University Hospital currently funds the program that provides primary care services to young people.
