Finally, it examines appropriations and disbursements for each agency and program included in the budget. The report provides a comparison of the appropriations recommended this year with those approved last year, and an analysis of the Governor’s recommendations.

Statement from State Senator Shirley L. Huntley on City Zone Idling Law

On Asthma Awareness Day it is essential that we continue to raise awareness of the adverse impacts of engine idling on those suffering from the respiratory disease," said Senator Shirley L. Huntley. "Legislation such as the city’s new School Zone Idling Law could prevent asthma attacks experienced by hundreds of students citywide. I commend the City Council for their steps to curb engine idling across the city, and urge my colleagues on all levels of government to continue the dialogue to ensure a higher quality of life for all New Yorkers."
