MediSked Celebrates Grand Opening

This afternoon, I had the opportunity to speak at the grand opening ceremony for MediSked, LLC, located on University Avenue. MediSked, LLC was born out of a partnership between provider agency management and proven success with software engineering. The founders of MediSked started the company as a research innovation at RIT in Rochester, NY back in 2003. What started out as an exhaustive search for an existing agency management software solution specific for home and community based provider agencies, quickly turned into the creation of MediSked and its one of a kind software solution that manages the unique workflows and requirements of such agencies.

GALLIVAN QUESTIONS DMV CONTRACT FOR NEW LICENSES WITH CANADIAN COMPANY

Senate Economic Development Chair Cites Economic and Safety Concerns, Urges Comptroller’s Office To Thoroughly Review Contract

“The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles’ apparent selection of a bid submitted by CBN Secure Technology of Canada to produce the state’s next generation drivers licenses raises several questions and concerns.”

“The fact that CBN’s bid was the most expensive to taxpayers and would shift the development and manufacturing processes out of the United States raises some questions as New York State continues to grapple with budget issues. I hope the State Comptroller’s office gives this contract a thorough review to ensure tax dollars are being invested wisely.”

Don’t Hike Pay for Legislators, Raise the People’s Pay

By SENATOR TIM KENNEDY

It’s time for lawmakers to go on the record on pay raises. Over the last several weeks and months, I’ve made it clear I am opposed to pay hikes for state legislators. Now, I urge my colleagues to join me in working to restore the public’s trust, rather than moving forward with their ill-conceived money grab.

With our economy now pressing forward along the road to recovery, lawmakers should be focused on economic issues and getting people back to work, not on bigger paychecks for themselves.

Stop The Toll Hikes On Commercial Trucks

I, like much of the public, was shocked when the Thruway Authority proposed a 45% increase in commercial tolls.  This toll hike will have detrimental ramifications on all New Yorkers.

This increase, which is set to take effect in October, will hit the trucking industry at the heart of their business. According to the NYS Motor Truck Association, nearly 90 percent of New York communities depend exclusively on trucks to move their goods and over 87 percent of all manufactured goods are transported by trucks. New York’s trucks are responsible for transporting over 1.4 million tons of manufactured material here each day, while providing one in 25 jobs in the state.  Without trucks, no person, home or business could survive.
