Legislation Approved to Encourage Volunteer Recruitment

Albany, N.Y., September 11—The New York State Senate gave final legislative approval today to legislation, supported by state Senator George Winner (R-C-I, Elmira), to create a “Volunteer Emergency Services Recruitment and Retention Fund” by allowing taxpayers to voluntarily contribute to the fund’s establishment through a state income tax check-off.

Senator Flanagan and Assemblyman Fitzpatrick Join Efforts to Help Kings Park Fire Department Expand

In a move that will enhance safety throughout the Kings Park area, Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) and Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick (7th Assembly District) have announced that the state has agreed to transfer a parcel of land on the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center property to the Kings Park Fire District (KPFD).
