Senator Lee Zeldin Honors East Patchogue Veteran Eric Carver In Albany

Senator Lee Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) recently honored Master Sergeant (MSgt.) Eric Carver of East Patchogue, as his 2013 inductee to the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life.

In April 2013, MSgt. Carver completed his 27th year of combined U.S. Air Force service between active duty service and Air National Guard service.

Leader Stewart-Cousins with Dr. Elliott Palais, 2013 NYS Senate Veteran Hall of Famer

Leader Stewart-Cousins handed a Certificate of Recognition to Dr. Elliott Palais whom she inducted as New York State Senate 2013 Veteran Hall of Fame on Tuesday, May 21st in Albany, NY. Dr. Palais is a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He is currently the Secretary for the Yonkers Central Committee of Veterans Organization.

Senator Farley Honors Clifton Park Veteran with Induction into Hall of Fame

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of inducting World War II veteran Allan Atwell of Clifton Park into the New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame on May 21st in Albany.

“Mr. Atwell is an amazing individual,” Senator Farley said. “He was a typical small town, upstate boy who went into the Army at age 18 in 1943, and the private first class ended up aiding in the liberation of France in 1944. Not only did he protect our Country, he was a protector for France as well.”

Senator Stewart-Cousins Inducts Dr. Elliott Palais into New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame

Albany, NY - Dr. Elliott Palais of Yonkers was inducted into the New York State Senate Hall of Fame today at a ceremony in Albany. Dr. Palais was nominated by Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins. He is a veteran of the United State Army and served during the Korean War. He is currently the Secretary for the Yonkers Central Committee of Veterans Organizations.

The New York State Senate Veteran’s Hall of Fame is an annual award bestowed upon one veteran from each Senator’s district. The award recognizes outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life.

Roger Woodworth Nominated by Senator Grisanti for Veterans Hall of Fame in New York State Senate

Senator Mark Grisanti (R, I-60) today announced he has nominated United States Army Captain Roger L. Woodworth as his nominee for the New York State Senate’s 2013 Veterans Hall of Fame Honoree Celebration.

CPT Woodworth will be recognized at a ceremony and luncheon on Tueaday in Albany for his efforts in the military as well as his work as a veteran in Western New York.

Senator Klein Honors Vietnam Veteran and Bronx Community Leader, Silvio Mazzella, at Veterans Hall of Fame in Albany

ALBANY, NY – Senator Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) honored Bronx native and resident, Silvio Mazzella, at the New York Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony for his service in the United States Marine Corps. After training in Paris Island, South Carolina, North Carolina, San Diego and Okinawa, he served in Vietnam.

Gerry West and Bob Addison, World War II veterans who served in the same elite U.S. Marines unit and have remained lifelong friends, were inducted into the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Albany today.

FORT DRUM’S COL. TERRENCE ROCHE NAMED TO SENATE VETERANS HALL OF FAME

Col. Terrence Roche, the ex-Garrison Commander who oversaw the dramatic growth of Fort Drum from a small training facility into a premier Army post—and the region’s largest local employer—was inducted into the New York State Senate “Veterans Hall of Fame” at a special ceremony held Tuesday at the Capitol.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO ANNOUNCES FREEPORT’S STEPHEN NICOLINO INDUCTED INTO SENATE’S VETERANS HALL OF FAME

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that Freeport resident Stephen Nicolino has been inducted into the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame. Mr. Nicolino was named to the Hall of Fame by Senator Fuschillo.

     “Stephen Nicolino is a devoted and tireless advocate for our nation’s heroes. He has organized numerous service projects to aid local veterans, soldiers fighting overseas, and the community as a whole, and continues to serve in many different community organizations. CORPORAL IRVING CANTOR IS INDUCTED INTO THE NEW YORK STATE VETERANS' HALL OF FAME

Senator John A. DeFrancisco has announced that Corporal Irving Cantor was inducted into the New York State Veterans’ Hall of Fame today, May 21, 2013, posthumously.

“Irving Cantor dedicated his life to helping returning veterans find work and keeping them informed about their benefits,” said Senator DeFrancisco. “He also fought to keep the War Memorial and founded the Veteran’s Party, which is an independent political party with the goal of supporting candidates who support policies that benefit veterans.”

Corporal Irving Cantor was born in Syracuse in 1918, and he served in the 3138th Motor Messenger Signal Corps, carrying messages behind enemy lines in the European Theater of operations working directly with and for General Eisenhower.

Members of Fort Drum’s 10th Mountain Division were honored Monday at “10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum Day,” an event held at the State Capitol, hosted by Senator Patty Ritchie.

Senator DeFrancisco Honors Leslie Reichardt for His Military Service

Senator John A. DeFrancisco had the pleasure of presenting Leslie Reichardt, Lt. Col, USAF Retired, a WW II veteran, with a certificate of appreciation on Armed Forces Day.  The CNY Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America held a dinner meeting on May 18, 2013, at which Senator DeFrancisco presented the certificate and spoke about legislation to better protect and support active military members and veterans.
