SENATOR LANZA ADVISES NEW YORKERS TO STAY SAFE IN SUMMER HEAT

Senator Andrew Lanza today urged New Yorkers to take precautions as high temperatures and humidity are being predicted throughout New York State this week. Temperatures are expected to top 90 degrees over the next few days in communities across the state. 

“Temperatures are expected to climb significantly across the state this week, and it’s important for New Yorkers to take appropriate precautions,” Senator Lanza said. “I encourage everyone to remain indoors when possible, stay hydrated, and check on any neighbors who may need assistance. Together, we can make sure that everyone stays safe during the period of extreme heat.”

Senator Ortt Presents Proclamation at Revolutionary War Event

The Daughters of the Revolutionary War held its 115th Dysinger Family Reunion Sunday afternoon where Corporal Nicholas Deissinger was honored with a plaque in his memory. Corporal Deissinger fought in the Revolutionary War. Senator Ortt was on hand to take part in this historic commemoration, and presented the family with a proclamation. New Law Permits Rifles for Deer Hunting in Genesee County

Governor Cuomo has signed Senator Ranzenhofer's bill into law, allowing the use of rifles for big game hunting in Genesee County.  Last fall, the Genesee County Legislature and the Genesee County Federation of Sportsman Club requested the special legislation.

Senator Venditto Attends Kids Adopt a Shelter 2015 3rd Annual Pet Adoption Fashion Show

New York State Senator Michael Venditto, (R, C, I- Massapequa) attended the Kids Adopt a Shelter 2015 3rd Annual Pet Adoption Fashion Show and Family Fun Day at the Petco in Massapequa. It was a great event, thanks to all of the hard work of the volunteers and especially Sean Martin. Senator Venditto also loved spending some time at this event with an Italian Greyhound puppy (pictured above) that was up for adoption.

Senator Venditto Attends Camp Fahrenheit

New York State Senator Michael Venditto, (R, C, I- Massapequa) had the opportunity to spend some time with the Nassau County Junior Firemen’s Association at their Summer Camp Fahrenheit at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy. Senator Venditto enjoyed spending time with our young volunteers and even got to see them perform a two minute drill.

Senator Venditto Cuts Ribbon on Massapequa LIRR Station Improvements

New York State Senator Michael Venditto, (R, C, I- Massapequa) joined with the President of the LIRR, Patrick Nowakowski, Senator Kemp Hannon, Assemblyman Joseph Saladino and Thomas McKevitt and other elected officials to officially cut the ribbon on the reopening of the Massapequa Station following a $20.5 million rehabilitation project.

Senator Venditto also had the opportunity to tour and get a first hand look at many of the station improvements, including the work of artist Peter Drake, a Long Island native. Drake painted scenes and images of an earlier time which were then transformed into a series of 17 laminated glass windows enclosing the waiting room and located above the stairways.
