FUNKE DELIVERS FUNDS TO STEM THE TIDE OF “100-YEAR” FLOODS IN ONTARIO COUNTY

Senator Rich Funke today announced he has secured $400,000 in State infrastructure funding that will be made available to the Towns of Richmond and Canadice to address persistent, localized flooding in the Honeoye Lake watershed.  Funke was joined at the announcement by Ontario County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jack Marren, Town of Richmond Supervisor Ralph Angelo, and Town of Canadice Supervisor Kristine Singer, whose communities experienced significant damage from floods that have occurred annually for two consecutive years.

SENATOR MARTINS SUPPORTS WOMEN’S VETERAN PROGRAM

     Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently joined with members of the National Association of Professional Women’s Nassau County Chapter (NAPW Nassau County) in Williston Park at their recent event supporting The Women’s Veteran Program.

     The Women’s Veteran Program is based in Northport and helps serve the unmet needs of brave female soldiers. The program provides women veterans with items that are not supplied by the VA and helps them adjust to their stay in the hospital.

Senator Panepinto Announces Thousands In State Aid For Library Construction

More than $140,000 in grants to be distributed to libraries for infrastructure improvements

Buffalo, N.Y. - Senator Marc Panepinto (D-Buffalo) announced $141,108 in funding today for four public libraries within the 60th State Senate District. The funding comes as part of 182 construction grants awarded to libraries across the state from the New York State Library.

Supported by a $14 million capital fund appropriation the 2014-2015 state budget, funding totaling $141,108 will be distributed to the City of Tonawanda Public Library, Town of Tonawanda (Kenilworth) Public Library, Town of Tonawanda (Kenmore) Public Library and the Hamburg Public Library.

Ranzenhofer Announces State Aid for Library Construction Awards for Pavilion, Byron-Bergen Public Libraries

State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer announced today that Pavilion Public Library has been awarded $283,877, while Byron-Bergen Public Library has been awarded $65,355, in public library construction funds.

 

The funds are from $14 million in capital funds for public library construction provided in the 2014 State Budget.  Pavilion Public Library’s grant is for a new 1,790 square foot children’s addition to the library’s existing building.  Byron-Bergen Public Library’s grant is for fixing drainage issues in the parking lot, replacing an emergency exit door, and installing energy efficient windows.

Senator Farley Announces Local Libraries Awarded Construction Aid

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) is pleased to announce eight libraries in his 49th Senatorial District were recently awarded public library construction funds that will allow them to improve their facilities.

“As the Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries, I am pleased to see these State funds assisting our local libraries in improving the buildings that house vital information and allow organizations to keep up with the demands of their users.”

Senator Farley noted the construction grants are part of an extremely competitive process and are funded through construction moneys which are appropriated annually in the State budget. In addition, Senator Farley was able to secure some special grants for every public library in his district.

RIDERS ALLIANCE PRESENTS "BUS CHAMPION" AWARD TO SENATOR MARTIN GOLDEN FOR SPONSORING LEGISLATION TO IMPROVE BUS SERVICE

Brooklyn, NY – On Tuesday, bus riders and transit advocates with the Riders Alliance will gather at Senator Martin Golden’s district office to present one of two “Bus Champion” awards to Senator Martin Golden for his work advocating for better bus service in New York City.

This legislative session, Senator Golden sponsored a bill which allows the City’s Select Bus Service system to expand by ensuring bus-only lanes are enforced, speeding up commute times for over 2 million New Yorkers who rely on bus service every day. That bill passed and awaits the Governor’s signature.
