SENATOR FUSCHILLO THANKS SEAFORD CHAMBER FOR PARTICIPATING IN FIRST-AID SUPPLY DRIVE

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently thanked the Seaford Chamber of Commerce for participating in his first-aid supply drive.

     Chamber members collected several boxes full of bandages, gauze pads, cotton balls, peroxide, and antiseptic ointments as part of the drive. A number of chamber members also opened up their businesses to serve as drop-off points where residents could bring items to donate.

     All items collected through the first-aid supply drive will be donated to the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN), which serves families in need throughout our communities.

New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle and members of the Senate Republican Conference today announced details of the 2012 NEW JOBS-NY Job Creation Plan that includes significant tax relief to encourage the creation of new private sector jobs, measures to ensure fiscal responsibility and control state spending, as well as other reforms and incentives to make New York more economically competitive.  The plan will be included in the Senate budget resolution to be acted on next week.

SENATE PASSES PACKAGE OF SEX CRIMES BILLS - Legislation would keep children safer, increase penalties for criminals


The New York State Senate today passed a series of bills increasing penalties for people convicted of sex crimes against children.

The Senate passed legislation (S1541A), cosponsored by Senator Andrew Lanza, that would increase criminal penalties for sexual contact between a child and a person in a position of trust, which includes any adult responsible for supervision of children when they are not with their parents.

The New York Hispanic Clergy Organization chaired by Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz will be donating a vehicle to the Dominican Republic.

This vehicle with a capacity for 20 passengers and equipped with special services for disabled people and wheelchairs, will be sent to the Dominican Foundation for life "FundoVida" which is presided over by the Dominican TV Host, Juan Cruz Triffolio and his wife Eduviges Ureña.
