Today I participated in a county-wide initiative called Rockland Read In Day that many elementary schools in the district take part in. I was at Stony Point Elementary school reading to students in the 5th Grade.
Albany- Senator Nozzolio recently met with students and faculty from Midlakes Middle School and discussed the importance of education to the students future success. Senator Nozzolio arranged a tour of the State Capital for the students and welcomed them on the floor of the historic New York State Senate Chamber.
Brooklyn- Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) together with the Chinese American Partnership Inc. has announced plans to host the 9th Annual Lunar New Year celebration at New Utrecht High School, located at 1601-80th Street in Brooklyn, on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will include cultural performances, food, and entertainment.
Senator Marty Golden stated, “I am pleased to announce and invite the community to attend my annual celebration of Lunar New Year for the communities of South Brooklyn. Troy – Senator Roy McDonald worked the night shift with members of the Troy Police Department on Friday, February 11. McDonald joined Chief Tedesco and expierienced first-hand the great work done by the men and women of the Troy Police Department.

Albany- State Senators Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) and Andrew J. Lanza (R-Staten Island), today introduced legislation that would allow a vendor selected by an RFP process and approved by the State Racing and Wagering Board, to run the New York City off-track betting corporation and resume operations in a manner that would support the New York state horse racing industry.
