Senate Bill Provides Governor Authority To Fill Lieutenant Governor Vacancy

Newark Boys Basketball Team

Newark - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented members of the Newark Boys Basketball Team with special New York State Resolutions that were enacted in the New York State Senate to honor their accomplishments as New York State Class A Champions. Senator Nozzolio made the presentations at Javon McCrea's graduation party. Javon was selected All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year and received a full scholarship to the University of Buffalo. The team was joined by Newark Central School District Superintendent, Henry Hann.

Area loses a friend

Officials in Johnsburg, in the early 1990s, were developing a strategy to save the railroad line that runs through the town.

Willsboro, in Essex County, needed a new sewer system around the same time.

The man that town leaders turned to for help navigating the way through the government bureaucratic process was state Assemblyman James King, a Republican from Ticonderoga.

SENATE MEDICAID TASK FORCE TARGETS WASTE, FRAUD AND ABUSE

New York spends a total of $52.5 billion of taxpayers’ money a year on Medicaid. That means New York State spends over $1 billion a week on Medicaid services. New York’s Medicaid program is larger than the total budgets of forty-three other States.
