Glendale Playground Cleanup

There will be approximately 55 high school juniors and seniors from all across the U. S. will be painting, sweeping and  pulling weeds in and around the playground. The playground is very busy and should look appealing to all the local residents.

SENATOR ADDABBO CALLS FOR A MORATORIUM ON HYDROFRACKING IN UPSTATE WATERSHED Wants Halt to Drilling that Affects NYC Drinking Water until EPA Impact Study Is Completed

Queens, NY, July 6, 2010 – To protect the drinking water for almost nine million New Yorkers, NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., is sponsoring a bill that calls for a moratorium on drilling for natural gas or “hydrofracking” in the upstate watershed.  Currently, the bill sits in the Environmental Conservation committees in both the Senate and the Assembly. It may come up for a vote in the Senate before the end of the current legislative session, scheduled to resume the week of July 12.

Benefit for Helen Buchel and Brittany Passalaqua

Geneva -Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in a benefit for the family of Helen Buchel and Brittany Passalaqua. The benefit was held to help the family to pay for funeral expenses. Senator Nozzolio is working with the family on legislation to strengthen the laws regarding parole in New York State.
