Bronx, NY - State Senator Rubén Díaz, Sr. called on Senate Democratic Conference Leader John L. Sampson to create a committee to investigate the selection of AEG to operate VLTs at the Aqueduct race track.
Ontario - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a New York State flag to a group of volunteers from North Ontario United Methodist church. The team will fly the flag in Slidell, Louisiana as they assist in the post hurricane rebuilding effort.

Leibell Resolution Calling on Obama Administration to move 9/11 Terror Trial Out of New York Overwhelmingly Passes State Senate;Chamber Stands Opposed to President’s Refusal to Commit to Changing Course State Senator Vincent Leibell, the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs today overwhelmingly won passage of a Senate resolution he introduced calling on the Obama administration to reverse its decision to conduct the 9/11 terror trial in New York.
There is no question those of us fortunate enough to hold a position of public trust must be held to a higher standard befitting the privilege of representing the people of New York. Today, the Senate acted to protect the best interests of the people we serve and preserve the dignity of our body. The decision to expel a member was not an easy choice, but I encouraged my colleagues in the State Senate on a bipartisan basis to vote their conscience on the recommendations of the Select Committee.
The New York State Senate today passed a legislative resolution, cosponsored by Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), urging the Obama Administration to move the 9/11 terror trials out of New York City.
Brooklyn - State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn), a member of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, today joined his colleagues in voting to approve a State Senate Resolution (J3889) calling on the Obama Administration to move the 9/11 terror trials of New York without delay. The New York State Senate's action follows in the wake of the President's refusal this past Sunday to commit to moving the trial out of New York.
