Senator Johnson Speaks At Bay Shore Summit

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently addressed the community at the annual Bay Shore/Brightwaters Community Summit. Senator Johnson spoke to the community about the additional money he was able to secure for Bay Shore Schools this year’s budget. The budget provided Bay Shore with more than $36 million in total aid -- an increase of more than $1.8 million over last year and $1.4 million than was proposed by Governor Spitzer.

Senator Johnson Celebrates Arbor Day 2007

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee recently attended the Long Island Arboricultural Association’s annual Pruning Event at Wildwood State park in Wading River. While there, Senator Johnson had the chance to congratulate Jenifer Chiodo whose art work of oak leaves was chosen among several entries to win a place on the official LIAA 2007 Arbor Day Poster. State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently stopped by the United Methodist Church in Babylon where he presented a New York State Senate Citation to Peter Vames of Babylon Village at Vames’ Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony. Vames, a member of Boy Scout Troop 1, was honored for achieving the rank of Eagle -- the highest rank that can be attained in the Boy Scouts of America.

Senator Nozzolio Delivers $50,000 For Town Of Wolcott

Wolcott– New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio today announced that he has secured a $50,000 state grant for the Town of Wolcott to help alleviate the cost of repairs at the Town Hall for local residents. Senator Nozzolio made the announcement at the Town Hall at 6070 Lake Avenue.“It was a pleasure to secure this state funding to provide relief to the property taxpayers in the Town of Wolcott,” said Senator Nozzolio.

Senator Johnson Sponsors Bill To Aid World Trade Center Workers

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, announced that he has signed on as a sponsor of legislation that would extend the time period to file a notice of claim for certain persons who sustained injury as a result of the World Trade Center rescue, recovery and cleanup operations. Senator Owen Johnson Secures Funding To Restore Bay Shore Marina

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, announced this week that he has secured $1.5 million in state funding to help restore the popular and well utilized Bay Shore Marina. The funding will be used for new decking, sidewalk upgrades, replaced benches and improved handicapped accessibility. Senator Johnson Gives $50,000 Boost To Brentwood Library’s Career Center

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently paid a visit to the Brentwood Public Library where he had the opportunity to visit the library’s Career and Educational Resource Center, for which he recently secured a $50,000 state grant.

The Center provides residents with the resources they need to either secure employment or enhance their career by offering counseling and training and collaborating with other programs such as the AFL-CIO-sponsored Apprenticeship Program.

Johnson/Senate Pass $6 Billion, Two-year Property Tax Relief Plan

State Senator Owen H.
