Savino Holds Victory Party for National Youth Football Champs, Staten Island Hurricanes

(Staten Island) Senator Diane Savino, Assemblyman Matt Titone, and Modell’s Sporting Goods hosted a Victory Pizza Party on Sunday, January 17, for the Staten Island Hurricane Youth Football Team.  The team’s four age divisions are the Mighty Mites (ages 8-9), Junior Pee Wee’s (9-11), Pee Wee’s (11-12) and the Midget’s (13-15).The organization won all four divisions in the American Youth Football Big East Regional Tournament. The Hurricanes then went on to play in the National Championship Games at Austin Tindale Park in Orlando, FL.

Governor Paterson Urges President Obama to Release Home Heating Assistance Funds

ALBANY, NY - Governor David A. Paterson today called on President Barack Obama to release $590 million in home heating assistance funds to help families cope with cold winter temperatures blanketing the country.
