I had the privilege of speaking at a rally supporting Long Point State Park on this past Saturday, March 6. I will be hosting a Rally this coming Saturday March 13 from 12-3 at the Quaker Beach Area in Allegany State Park. Please come out, show your support and let the Governor know that we need to keep our parks open. Also please take a minute and sign my petition to save the parks.

The State Senate Task Force on Medicaid Fraud held its first public hearing this morning to explore ways the Legislature can assist counties to improve Medicaid fraud prevention efforts.

SENATOR GOLDEN TO BOARD OF REGENTS: DON’T SACRIFICE EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS TO SAVE MONEY

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today released the following statement urging the New York State Board of Regents to maintain the existing high-school Regents examination requirements in New York State:

“I urge the New York State Board of Regents to immediately take the the proposal that would eliminate as many as 13 of the 17 high school Regents examinations, off the table. Regents exams in such subjects as social studies, foreign languages, science and math, must continue to be given in New York State schools.
