(New York) Senate President Pro Tempore Malcolm A. Smith, noting  that October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, says that it is time to recognize the contributions and skills of American workers with disabilities. National Disability Employment Awareness Month is dedicated to increase awareness of working Americans who have disabilities, and the barriers that still need to be removed.

Golden Gathering Senior Health Fair: Friday, October 23rd

        On Friday, October 23rd, I will be hosting my Annual Golden Gathering Senior Health Fair and hope that you can join me for this great event.         This year, free flu vaccinations, blood pressure and diabetes screenings, and other free health care services will be available.  As in years past, my Golden Gathering will be held between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Rockville Centre Recreation Center located at 111 North Oceanside Road in Rockville Centre.

Recording of Senator Squadron's September 30th community convention follow-up call

On September 30th, Senator Squadron hosted a conference call to give an update on the goals and priorities outlined at the first-ever 25th District Community Convention held in March. The discussion focused on Quality of Life, Nightlife, Public Safety, and Construction; Zoning, Neighborhood Preservation, and Community Development; Jobs, Workers' Rights, and Economic Development; and Criminal Justice and Civil Rights.

Larkin Calls For A Freeze On Funding For ACORN And Their Affiliates

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today called for a freeze all state funding for ACORN and their affiliates until Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes completes his investigation of the Brooklyn ACORN office and their questionable activities.

Senator Johnson Teams with Coats for Kids

 

Senator Craig M. Johnson (D-Nassau) is teaming with Coats for Kids Inc. to help make sure that no child goes cold this winter. 

Between now and Jan. 1, Senator Johnson will be collecting new and gently used winter coats at his District Office, 151 Herricks Road, Suite 202, Garden City Park, between 9 a.m .and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pick-ups can also be arranged.

Senior Citizens' Law Day 2009

Senator Breslin is pleased to announce the 16th Annual Senior Citizens’ Law Day at Albany Law School on Saturday October 3rd 2009 from 9am to 3pm. Padavan Installs New Officers Of Auburndale Improvement Association

New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) recently installed the new officers of the Auburndale Improvement Association during their annual installation of officers meeting.
