Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden, in partnership with the South West Brooklyn Parks Task Force will host two Christmas Tree lightings throughout the community this December in preparation for the upcoming Christmas season and to bring out the holiday spirit in all as we celebrate this magical time of year.

Special New York State Resolution For Geneva Red Wings Manager

Rochester - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Dave Herbst with a special Resolution enacted in the New York State Senate upon Dave’s designation as recipient of the Richard Warboys Special Humanitarian Award by the Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame. Dave’s lifelong connection to sports also includes ownership and management of the Geneva Red Wings.

New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently helped cub scouts from Pack 191 in Wantagh learn about government and citizenship. The scouts were learning about the topics as part of the requirements to get their citizen activity badges.

Lawmakers: Bruno case points to need for reform in Albany

PLATTSBURGH — Local state representatives hope the conviction of former Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno on two counts of felony corruption could change how politics works in the state's capital.

"This is just a perfect example of why we need to have serious ethics reform in Albany," Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward (R-Willsboro) said Monday.

Ruben Diaz Sr., opponents literally said nothing to justify denying equal marital rights to tens of thousands of New Yorkers.The only word 37 of them spoke was "no."Their collective silence was shameful.

Padavan Honors New Eagle Scout In Bellerose

New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) honored new Eagle Scour Jonathan Palmiotti from Troop 158 during a Court of Honor ceremony at VFW 6478 in Bellerose on Saturday evening December 5, 2009. Padavan presented Palmiotti with the New York State Senate Medal of Outstanding Achievement and a Certificate of Merit for his achievements. Senator Padavan presents the New York State Senate Medal of Outstanding Achievement to new Eagle Scout Jonathan Palmiotti.
