Senator Mike Nozzolio’s “Jobs for Heroes” Legislation Enacted!

Senator Mike Nozzolio welcomed local veterans to the State Capitol and shared his strong support for the “Jobs for Heroes Legislation”. This important legislation, which Senator Nozzolio co-sponsored and fought to enact will set aside 6% of all New York State contracts for businesses owned by a military service-disabled veteran, creating new employment and business opportunities for disabled veterans in our community.

Greg Ball, chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, along with Purple Heart Homes co-founders Dale Beatty and John Gallina, will visit students from Brian O’Connor’s fifth-grade class at Seven Bridges Middle School in Chappaqua on Thursday, April 3.

Beatty was named a top 10 “CNN Hero” in 2013.

Ranzenhofer, Unyts partner for community blood drive at Batavia Downs Gaming

State Senator Mike Ranzenhofer will partner with Unyts– Western New York’s only organ, eye, tissue and community blood center– for an open-to-the-public blood drive on Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Batavia Downs Gaming, 8315 Park Road in Batavia.

 

“Your donation can save up to three lives in our community.  That is why it is so critically important to ensure blood is available for our friends and neighbors in their time of need.  I encourage residents to celebrate National Donate Life Month by giving the gift of life through a blood donation,” said Ranzenhofer.
