AN  ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to requiring post-
  ing of notice of meetings on the internet

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 104 of the public officers law, as
amended  by  chapter  704 of the laws of 1979 and such section as renum-
bered by chapter 652 of the laws of 1983, is amended to read as follows:
  1. Public notice of the time and place of a meeting scheduled at least
one week prior thereto shall be given to the news  media  and  shall  be
conspicuously  posted  in  one  or more designated public locations AND,
POSTED ON THE PUBLIC BODY'S INTERNET WEBSITE PROVIDED SUCH  PUBLIC  BODY
HAS A WEBSITE, at least seventy-two hours before such meeting.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
