BING, DelMONTE, GUNTHER, HEASTIE, LANCMAN, MARKEY, McENENY, TOWNS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to requiring at least one employee of any child day care facility to be trained and certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 390-a of the social services law is amended by adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 5. A. THE SITE PROVIDER OF A FAMILY DAY CARE HOME OR GROUP FAMILY DAY CARE HOME SHALL PROVIDE THAT AT LEAST ONE EMPLOYEE WHO HOLDS A VALID CERTIFICATION IN A COURSE OF STUDY IN FIRST AID KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AND CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON PROVIDING THAT AID TO CHILDREN, AS APPROVED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES, BE ON PREMISES DURING THE OPERATING HOURS OF SUCH FAMI- LY DAY CARE HOME OR GROUP FAMILY DAY CARE HOME. B.
