BILL NUMBER: S7755 TITLE OF BILL : An act to repeal title 37 of article 15-B of the general municipal law relating to the Port Chester community development agency PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : This bill would repeal the Port Chester Community Development Agency that was originally established in 1964 pursuant to Title 37 of Article 15-B for the General Municipal Law as an urban renewal agency in the Village of Port Chester SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : Section 1. Title 37 of article 15-b of the general municipal law is repealed. JUSTIFICATION : The Board of Trustees shares the intentions of the State's recently passed Public Authority Accountability Act to eliminate dormant local public authorities, and has been taking its own proactive steps on a local level in an effort to mirror it. The Board certifies that the Port Chester Development Agency is not active and shall take all appropriate steps necessary to dissolve the Port Chester Community Development Agency if the agency is not deemed dissolved as a matter of law pursuant to General Municipal Law, Section 553(1)(b)(2).
