  printed to be committed to the Committee on Judiciary

AN ACT to amend the judiciary law,  in  relation  to  providing  persons
  seventy  years  of  age  or  older with an exemption from service as a
  juror

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The judiciary law is amended by adding a new section 512 to
read as follows:
  S  512.  EXEMPTION.  A  PERSON  SEVENTY YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER SHALL BE
EXEMPT FROM SERVICE AS A JUROR UPON CLAIMING EXEMPTION THEREFROM.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
have become a law.
