HOOPER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to prohibiting any municipality from using taxpayer funds to fiscally support private, local or free publications THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The general municipal law is amended by adding a new section 25 to read as follows: S 25. PROHIBITION OF USING TAXPAYER MONEY TO FUND CERTAIN PUBLICA- TIONS. NO MUNICIPALITY SHALL USE TAXPAYER FUNDS TO FISCALLY SUPPORT ANY PRIVATE, LOCAL OR FREE PUBLICATIONS. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
