BILL NUMBER:S5505 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to sportsman licenses for honorably discharged military veterans PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: This legislation seeks to provide for a free lifetime sportsman license to an honorable discharged veteran having a forty percent or greater service-related disability. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 of the bill amends Paragraphs a and j of subdivision 1 of section 11-0702 of the environmental conservation law, as amended by section 2 of part AA of Chapter 60 of the laws of 2011 to provide a free lifetime sportsman license and turkey permit for a person who has been honorably discharged from service in the Armed Forces of the United States and is certified as having a forty percent or greater service-related disability. Section 2 of the bill amends Paragraphs a and j of subdivision 1 of section 11-0702 of the environmental conservation law, as amended by Chapter 507 of the laws of 2010 to provide a free lifetime sportsman license and turkey permit for a person who has been honorably discharged from service in the Armed Forces of the United States and

STEWART-COUSINS, ADAMS, CARLUCCI, HASSELL-THOMPSON, KRUGER, LARKIN, OPPENHEIMER, SAMPSON -- read twice and ordered print- ed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to sportsman licenses for honorably discharged military veterans THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraphs a and j of subdivision 1 of section 11-0702 of the environmental conservation law, as amended by section 2 of part AA of chapter 60 of the laws of 2011, are amended to read as follows: a. Lifetime sportsman license and turkey permit. If purchased, for a child four years of age or younger $380.00 for a child age five through eleven years of age $535.00 for a person age twelve through sixty-nine years of age $765.00 for a person age seventy and over[.] $65.00 FOR A PERSON WHO HAS BEEN HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM SERVICE IN THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES AND IS CERTIFIED AS HAVING A FORTY EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
