BILL NUMBER:S7681 TITLE OF BILL: An act to authorize approval of certain transportation contracts of the Massapequa union free school district PURPOSE: To amend the education law, in reference to certain acts of the Massapequa Union Free School District regarding transportation contracts for the 2008-2009 through 2011-2012 school years. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section § 1 ratifies the Education law in to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm notwithstanding any failure to comply with the contract award; Section § 2 directs the transportation aid as valid and proper. FUSCHILLO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to authorize approval of certain transportation contracts of the Massapequa union free school district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or caused to be had and taken by the Massapequa union free school district and by all officers, employees or agents of such school district relating to or in connection with transportation contracts E252772, C257560, C257561, E257537, E257538, E257539, E257540, E257541, E257542, E257543, E257547, E257533, E257535, E257536, E259186, E259185, E259184, E257527, E257571, E257572, E257573, E254910, E610509, E009273, E600691B, E252770, E253710, E961006, E253715, E61133C, and E253714 of the 2008-2009 through 2011-2012 school years, and all acts incidental thereto are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the contract award, approval, and filing provisions of the education law, the general municipal law or any other law or any other statutory authority, rule or regulations, other than those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any omission, error, defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceeding had and taken. S 2. The education department is hereby directed to consider the aforementioned contracts for transportation aid as valid and proper obligations of the Massapequa union free school district. S 3.
