  printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi-
  ty and Military Affairs

AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the performance  of  a
  study  regarding  homeless  women who are veterans in the state of New
  York

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 501 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
subdivision 17 to read as follows:
  17.  TO  PERFORM A STUDY AND ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF HOME-
LESS WOMEN IN NEW YORK STATE WHO ARE VETERANS AS DEFINED IN  SUBDIVISION
THREE  OF  SECTION  THREE HUNDRED FIFTY OF THIS CHAPTER AND TO DETERMINE
THE NUMBER OF OFFSPRING OF SUCH VETERANS AS WELL AS THE  CURRENT  PLACE-
MENT OF SUCH OFFSPRING. SUCH STUDY AND ANALYSIS SHALL BE COMPLETED AND A
WRITTEN  REPORT DELIVERED TO THE GOVERNOR, THE LEGISLATURE AND THE DIVI-
SION OF VETERANS' AFFAIRS WITHIN TWO YEARS AFTER THE EFFECTIVE  DATE  OF
THIS SUBDIVISION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
