BILL NUMBER:S1095A

TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the highway law, in relation to the
designation of the Niagara Wine Trail Ridge and the Niagara Wine Trail
Lake

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF THE BILL: To re-designate and reconfigure
the "Niagara Escarpment Wine Trail", and the "Niagara Wine Trail" into
the "Niagara Wine Trail Ridge" and the "Niagara Wine Trail Lake".

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Amends subdivision 7-a of section 343-k of the
highway law.

JUSTIFICATION: The "Niagara Wine Trail" has been extremely successful
in helping Niagara County wineries attract customers since its
inception. This new reconfiguration and extension eastward will draw
new attention to the trail and will serve to attract additional
visitors to it. In addition, since the creation of the Niagara Wine
Trail, several wineries have already opened or are in the development
stages along the route. This new extension eastward will attract
additional wineries to open installations along the trail.

PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: S7159/A10207 of 2011-12; Referred to
Transportation

FISCAL IMPLICATION: None to the State.

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately.
