AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the  city  of  New  York,  in
  relation   to   requiring   agencies  conducting  street  or  sidewalk
  construction to post signs at work sites identifying  the  responsible
  agency and its contact information

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is  amended
by adding a new section 19-155 to read as follows:
  S  19-155  SIGNS  POSTED AT STREET OR SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION WORK SITES
IDENTIFYING RESPONSIBLE AGENCY AND CONTACT INFORMATION. A. ANY AGENCY OR
ENTITY THAT CONDUCTS STREET OR SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION SHALL POST  ONE  OR
MORE SIGNS AT EACH CONSTRUCTION WORK SITE SUMMARIZING:
  1. THE NAME AND CONTACT INFORMATION OF THE RESPONSIBLE AGENCY OR ENTI-
TY  CONDUCTING  OR  OVERSEEING  CONSTRUCTION  AT  SUCH WORK SITE AND ANY
PERMIT NUMBERS FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION; AND
  2.  THE  ESTIMATED  DATES  OF  COMMENCEMENT  AND  COMPLETION  OF  SUCH
CONSTRUCTION WORK.
  B. EVERY SIGN REQUIRED PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION A OF THIS SECTION:
  1. SHALL BE POSTED PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION; AND
  2. SHALL REMAIN POSTED UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF SUCH CONSTRUCTION; AND
  3. SHALL BE POSTED IN A CONSPICUOUS MANNER; AND
  4. SHALL BE MADE OF A DURABLE MATERIAL CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING OUTDOOR
CLIMATIC  CONDITIONS,  WITH  LETTERS  BEING AT LEAST TWO INCHES HIGH AND
HAVING A STROKE OF AT LEAST ONE-HALF INCH. THE  LETTERS  AND  BACKGROUND
SHALL BE CONTRASTING COLORS.
  C.  THE COMMISSIONER IS AUTHORIZED TO PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS
NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION.
