BILL NUMBER:S6876

TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 192 of the laws of 2011,
relating to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to
practice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in
connection with an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners, in
relation to the dates when such authorization is effective

PURPOSE:

To authorize certain health care professionals to practice in this
state with an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:

Section 1 - Amends chapter 4 of the laws of 2014 to address the change
in date of the Bronx Half Marathon from September 21, 2014 to
September 28, 2014, per the request of the New York Road Runners.

Section 2 -- Effective date.

JUSTIFICATION:

There are not enough health care professionals available, within the
state of New York, to meet the needs of participants in events
sanctioned by the New York Road Runners. Accordingly, it would be
advantageous to allow licensed health care professionals, who are in
good standing with their respective state or territory, to provide
such services here in New York.
