BILL NUMBER:S1142 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the financing and construction of certain facilities for the Honest Weight Community Initiative Inc. (Honest Weight Food Co-Op) PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To enable the Honest Weight Community Initiative Inc. to obtain funding and enter into contacts through the dormitory authority for the acquisition, financing, refinancing, design construction, improvement, renovation, or otherwise providing for facilities within the City of Albany. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends paragraph (b) of subdivision 2 of section 1676 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new undesignated subparagraph to include the Honest Weight Community Initiative Inc. Section 2 amends subdivision 1 of section 1680 of the public authorities law by adding a new undesignated paragraph to include the Honest Weight Community Initiative Inc. Section 3 provides that any contracts entered into by the dormitory authority pursuant to this act shall be deemed to be state contracts.

BRESLIN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the financing and construction of certain facilities for the Honest Weight Community Initiative Inc. (Honest Weight Food Co-Op) THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 2 of section 1676 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new undesignated subpara- graph to read as follows: HONEST WEIGHT COMMUNITY INITIATIVE INC. (HONEST WEIGHT FOOD CO-OP), A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION, FOR FINANCING AND CONSTRUCTION FOR FACILI- TIES WITHIN THE CITY OF ALBANY. S 2. Subdivision 1 of section 1680 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new undesignated paragraph to read as follows: HONEST WEIGHT COMMUNITY INITIATIVE INC. (HONEST WEIGHT FOOD CO-OP) S 3. Any contracts entered into by the dormitory authority pursuant to this act shall be deemed state contracts within the meaning of that term as set forth in article 15-A of the executive law, and the authority shall be deemed, for the purposes of this act, a contracting agency as that term is used in such article.
