BILL NUMBER:S2859 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public officers law, in relation to peace officers employed by Cornell University; and to repeal subdivision 59 of section 3 of such law relating thereto PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To allow for Cornell University, Itha- ca campus to hire campus police officers who live outside of Tompkins County. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section one of the bill repeals amendments made by a chapter of the laws of 2012 amending the public officers law, as proposed in S.7485-A. Section two of the bill adds a new subdivision in section 3-b of the public officers law.
