HONORING Turner Construction upon the occasion of
its designation for special recognition by the
Albany Fund for Education on October 25, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Turner Construction upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the Business Partner Award by the Albany Fund for Education to be
celebrated at its 22nd Annual Gala on Friday, October 25, 2019, at
Renaissance Albany Hotel in Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Albany Fund for Education (AFE) strives to enhance
opportunities for students to learn, grow, and succeed by building
community partnerships, raising funds, and investing in innovative and
effective programs and projects that build equity and strengthen the
educational infrastructure of the City School District of Albany; and

WHEREAS, Turner Construction is receiving this prestigious award for
its steadfast and unremitting commitment to its community; and

WHEREAS, Turner Construction is a North America-based, international
construction services company and is a leading builder in diverse market
segments; it has earned recognition for undertaking large, complex
projects, fostering innovation, embracing emerging technologies, and
making a difference for its clients and employees; and

WHEREAS, A longtime supporter of the Albany Fund for Education,
Turner Construction is well known for its ongoing philanthropy, always
encouraging others and setting up opportunities for youth to take their
interests and creativity to the next level; and

WHEREAS, This vital company's commitment to Albany goes beyond
financial support; it provides a various array of career development and
mentoring programs which help to open the opportunities in the
construction field; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Turner Construction upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Business Partner Award by the Albany Fund for Education
on October 25, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Turner Construction.
