 AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to  requir-
   ing  the department of agriculture and markets to develop and maintain
   a directory of New York state farms and farm products
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 52 of section 16 of the agriculture and markets
 law,  as added by a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the agriculture
 and markets law relating to requiring the department of agriculture  and
 markets  to  develop and maintain a database of New York state farms and
 farm products, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 6330-A and A.
 7403-A, is amended to read as follows:
   52. Develop and maintain[,  in  cooperation  with  the  department  of
 economic  development  and  urban  development  corporation,] a publicly
 available searchable [database] DIRECTORY of New York  state  farms  and
 farm  products  ON  THE  DEPARTMENT'S  WEBSITE.   The [database] WEBSITE
 DIRECTORY shall include all farms located within the  state  and  shall,
 WHEN  KNOWN, list the products available for purchase and contact infor-
 mation for each farm, unless a farm opts out of being  included  in  the
 [database]  DIRECTORY  by  notifying the department of such option.  The
 department shall [provide easily accessible  electronic  access  to  the
 database  on  the  department's website and shall] update the [database]
 WEBSITE DIRECTORY at least every two years.
   § 2.  This act shall take effect on the same  date  and  in  the  same
 manner  as  a  chapter  of the laws of 2021 amending the agriculture and
 markets law relating to requiring  the  department  of  agriculture  and
 markets  to  develop and maintain a database of New York state farms and
 farm products, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 6330-A and A.
 7403-A, takes effect.
