 AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation  to  permitting  a  local
   legislative  body  to overturn an emergency order of a chief executive
   upon a vote of two-thirds of its members
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1. Section 24 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision 9 to read as follows:
   9. SIX MONTHS AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY ORDER, THE
 LEGISLATIVE BODY OF WHICH SUCH STATE OF EMERGENCY  IS  DECLARED  BY  THE
 CHIEF  EXECUTIVE  MAY OVERTURN SUCH LOCAL EMERGENCY ORDER UPON A VOTE OF
 TWO-THIRDS OF ITS MEMBERS.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
