S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 9857 I N A S S E M B L Y April 19, 2022 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SCHMITT -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to prohibit the governor from establishing mask and face covering mandates and from issuing unilateral mandates affecting children THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The governor shall not issue any new executive orders or direct the promulgation of any new rules, regulations, or any form of guidance requiring the wearing of a mask or face covering by any person in the state nor shall the governor issue any unilateral mandates affecting children. For the purposes of this section, "face covering" shall include, but not be limited to, cloth masks, surgical masks or N95 respirators. ยง 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
