CONGRATULATING Lillian Bauernfeind upon the
occasion of her retirement after 35 years of
distinguished public service to the Town of
Delaware, New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Lillian Bauernfeind upon the occasion of her retirement
after 35 years of distinguished public service to the Town of Delaware,
New York; and

WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Lillian Bauernfeind gave
tirelessly of her time and energies as a dedicated public servant to the
citizens of the Town of Delaware, New York, providing her beloved
community with exceptional counsel and leadership; and

WHEREAS, A great State is only as great as those individuals who
perform exemplary service to their community whether through unique
achievement in a profession or other endeavors or simply through a
lifetime of good citizenship; and

WHEREAS, It is important that we honor those individuals whose
service to the community has helped to preserve the quality of our Great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, For 35 years, Lillian Bauernfeind rendered dedicated,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Delaware in her roles
as Assessor Clerk, Town Clerk/Tax Collector, Bookkeeper, Budget Officer,
Planning & Zoning Secretary and Water/Sewer Clerk; and

WHEREAS, Through the years, Lillian Bauernfeind has carefully and
successfully overseen the budget and expenses to keep taxes down for
Town residents; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Lillian Bauernfeind has volunteered with the Hortonville Fire
Department for many years, assisting with numerous fundraisers such as
pancake breakfasts and the Hortonville Field Day; and

WHEREAS, Through her dedication, loyalty and tireless efforts,
Lillian Bauernfeind has helped make the Town of Delaware a place where
families want to live, tourists want to visit, and businesses want to
locate; her unwavering commitment, willingness and ability to understand
and respond to the concerns of the people of the Town of Delaware, have
made a substantial contribution to the betterment of this community; and

WHEREAS, For 35 years, Lillian Bauernfeind rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Delaware, truly
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Lillian Bauernfeind over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Lillian Bauernfeind upon the occasion of her retirement
after 35 years of distinguished service to the Town of Delaware, and to
wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lillian Bauernfeind.
