MOURNING the death of Lou Tessier, Lake George
Town Supervisor, distinguished citizen, and devoted
community member

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Lou Tessier of Lake George, New York, died on April 28,
2022, at the age of 93; and

WHEREAS, Born in Queens, New York, to the late Louis and Gertrude
Tessier, Lou Tessier made the decision to move to Lake George with his
family in 1968, after living on Long Island for some time; and

WHEREAS, A veteran of the Korean War, Lou Tessier served in the
United States Army from 1933-1955; and

WHEREAS, Lou Tessier married his beloved wife, Mary, on October 3,
1948; and

WHEREAS, Lou Tessier distinguished himself in his profession and by
his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and

WHEREAS, Elected to the Lake George Town Board in 1982, Lou Tessier
ran for Town Supervisor in 1983; he secured the position and held it
proudly for 26 years, making himself the longest tenured Supervisor in
Warren County history; and

WHEREAS, He also served as a Court Attendant in Warren County Court,
worked for the Board of Elections, and operated the Four Seasons Motel
in Lake George for many years; and

WHEREAS, Lou Tessier's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and

WHEREAS, A champion of his community, Lou Tessier advocated and
supported the Warren County Airport, SUNY Adirondack, and numerous other
facilities and projects which help define Warren County as a great place
to live; and

WHEREAS, Lou Tessier even earned the dedication of the entrance road
to the Warren County Airport, now named Lou Tessier Way; and

WHEREAS, His accomplishments include acquiring land for the Usher
Park Beach, renovating the Town Hall, and building the Scoville Learning
Center at Adirondack Community College, now called SUNY Adirondack; and

WHEREAS, Lou Tessier is survived by his wife of nearly 74 years,
Mary (Iannaco) Tessier of Lake George; his daughter, Renee (Tessier)

Moore and husband Michael; his cherished and beloved granddaughters,
Nicole (Moore) McGraw and her husband William, and Shannon Moore and her
fiance Dustin Olsen; two great-grandsons, Mason and William McGraw; he
also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly;
affectionately called "Uncle Lou," he influenced four generations of the
Tessier family and provided a lifetime of love and laughter for all; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Lou Tessier leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Lou Tessier, Lake George Town Supervisor,
distinguished citizen, and devoted community member; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Lou Tessier.
