LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Arthur C. Hall, distin-
guished citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Arthur Hall died on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the age of
83; and
WHEREAS, Arthur Hall was born on May 25, 1929, in Middletown, New
York, to the late Richard O. and M. Dorothy Creeden Hall of Ridgebury;
having graduated from Middletown High School in 1947, Arthur Hall began
his career with GLF, now Agway, Inc.; a year later he enlisted in the
United States Army for a duration of three years, part of which was
spent in Korea; and
WHEREAS, Arthur Hall attained the rank of Staff Sergeant, and having
returned home after the military in 1951, he was transferred by GLF to
Oneida, where he met the love of his life, Edda Anne Zeppieri; they were
married in 1953 and had three children; and
WHEREAS, Arthur and Edda Hall celebrated their 59th wedding anniver-
sary in August of 2012; his professional career brought him many
promotions, culminating in his position of manager of the Agway Distrib-
ution Center in Geneva; he retired from this position, having worked 41
years with Agway; during his retirement, he owned and operated the
Powder Horn Gun Shop in Waterloo; and
WHEREAS, A lover of his work and a servant of his community, Arthur
Hall was elected Alderman-at-Large on the first bi-partisan mayoral
ticket in Port Jervis, New York; locally, he served as president of
Geneva Growth and the International Managers' Council (IMC); and
WHEREAS, Arthur Hall was a member of the Boards of Directors for the
National Bank of Waterloo and Geneva General Hospital; for a time, he
was also a member of the Finance Committee for St. Mary's Catholic
Church; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated sportsman and conservationist, Arthur Hall served
as president of the Beaverbrook Hunting Club in downstate New York and
later on the club's Board of Directors for many years; he was an early
member of the Waterloo Rifle and Pistol Club, a member of the Federation
of Sportsmen, and the NRA; and
WHEREAS, Strongly advocating for the protection of endangered wild-
life, Arthur Hall was a founding member and served as the first presi-
dent of Seneca White Deer, Inc.; most of all, he was a true family man;
and
WHEREAS, Arthur Hall distinguished himself in his profession and by
his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, Arthur Hall's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including charita-
ble and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by his son, Mark Arthur Hall, Arthur Hall is
survived by his wife, Edda; daughters, Gail and Linda; beloved grand-
children, James, Matthew, Katherine, Daniel and Patrick; and his broth-
er, Frank; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Arthur Hall leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Arthur C. Hall, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Arthur C. Hall.
