LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring David Lopez and his staff upon the occa-
sion of their designation as recipients of the New York State Liberty
Award

WHEREAS, David Lopez and his staff have given not only of their time and
energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor David Lopez
and his staff upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of
the New York State Liberty Award; and
WHEREAS, Director of Facilities at Southampton Hospital, David Lopez,
and his staff of 13, are being recognized for their valiant efforts
during and after Hurricane Sandy; and
WHEREAS, David Lopez and his dedicated team worked around the clock
during the natural disaster to keep Southampton Hospital, its patients,
and staff safe by ensuring the lights and electric stayed on at the
Hospital; and
WHEREAS, His remarkable team includes: James L. White, Assistant
Director; Tammy Palazzolo, Department Administrative Assistant; Dana
Davis; Thomas Goetz; Michael White; Gary Scherpich; August E. Heithaus;
Thomas Colitti; William J. Rand; Thomas M. Lawlor; Michael A. Catalano;
Richard J. Donohue; and Jordan C. Gomez; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which David Lopez and his staff have
displayed; and
WHEREAS, Those individuals, who have given so selflessly of their
skills and dedication, are worthy and due full recognition for their
valued contributions on behalf of their community as well as for their
service to their fellow man; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor David Lopez and his staff upon the occasion of their designation
as recipients of the New York State Liberty Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to David Lopez and the aforementioned staff members.
