LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mark Hillman, Ph.D. upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the President's Award by the Capital
District YMCA

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in recognizing the
outstanding achievements of its esteemed residents; and
WHEREAS, Mark Hillman, Ph.D. will be honored by the Capital District
YMCA with its prestigious President's Award during a dinner to be held
at the Albany Marriott on April 23, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hillman was selected for this honor by the Southern Sara-
toga YMCA; and
WHEREAS, He earned a B.A. in psychology, with an emphasis in exper-
imental research, from the State University College at Oneonta, an
Ed.S., Specialist in Counseling, and an M.S. in Counseling/Personnel
from the University at Albany, and a Ph.D. in psychology from Pacific
Western University; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hillman has served as director of the City of Albany's
Veterans Intern Program, and served the Averill Park School District as
a counselor at the High School Counseling Center and as director of the
Life/Work Planning Project; and
WHEREAS, He currently enjoys a successful private practice in Clifton
Park; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hillman is an award-winning author, trainer, and lecturer
who has helped corporations in the United States, Russia, Poland, Trini-
dad and Tobago achieve vertical growth; and
WHEREAS, He has provided training and executive coaching for several
companies, including Bank of America, Northwestern Mutual Financial
Network, AT&T, General Dynamics, and Albany International; he is also
the author of the widely acclaimed book "MY THERAPIST IS MAKING ME
NUTS!"; and
WHEREAS, He served his country with honor in the United States Coast
Guard Reserve; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hillman and his loving wife, Linda, are the proud parents
of two daughters; and
WHEREAS, He has contributed his time to the American Diabetes Associ-
ation, American Cancer Society, Southern Saratoga YMCA, and Court
Appointed Special Advocate of Saratoga County; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hillman has exhibited the true spirit of this prestigious
award through his tireless commitment to the community; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mark Hillman, Ph.D. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the President's Award by the Capital District YMCA; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mark Hillman, Ph.D.
